About Me

So you want to get to know me a bit more, ‘eh?

Well let me introduce myself, my name is Jacob Wall and I was born on August 25th, 1993 in Sacramento, California and moved to Southlake, Texas in April of 2008. At first I was very upset that I moved to Southlake but now I am happy with where I’m at. Steve Jobs, a person I respect deeply once said, “You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards.” This is so true! For so long I tried to connect the dots looking forward but it wasn’t until I connected the dots looking backwards that I truly saw what the simple, yet not so simple decision of moving to Southlake had done for me. It has been single greatest thing to ever happen to me. Had we of not moved to Southlake I would for sure not be where I am today, or even have figured out who I am. It wasn’t until I was stripped of everything when moving here in terms of friends and everything else that I realized who I really was.

At any rate, I love flying and computers. I am a complete nerd and work for a chicago based company called Steadfast Networks. I am a sales rep there so I work with existing clients as well as new clients to expand the sales of servers and colocation. It’s a really neat job because you get to interact with people throughout the world whether that be India, China, Brazil, or back here in the states. I am pretty well known on the worlds largest IT board, webhostingtalk.com, I go under the username of “Jacob Wall.” With over 4,300 posts now, well within the top one hundred posters of all time on Webhostingtalk.com it’s built a reputation built on credibility, unbiased opinions, passion for learning, passion for being a teacher, and great character. It’s very neat having a presence in such an industry at such a young age, you don’t know how much of an ego boost it is! :)

I shoot for the stars on everything, I set my goals high; you would be surprised what you can do when you set the bar high! There are very few things in life that you can not achieve, I’ve achieved a lot of my goals in my lifetime like flying, having a great job at eighteen, et cetera. It always comes down to whether or not you are willing to pursue the goals through thick and thin. People can always say words to try and put you down, never listen to them – they don’t know you as well as you know yourself and as long as you believe that you’re going to accomplish it, you will!

Quotes play an important aspect in my life, they inspire and challenge me. It is funny how just reading one Gerard Way quote would have such a profound effect on my life, “One day your life will flash before your eyes. Make sure its worth watching”, nowhere did I expect that it would be a quote I would say to myself every day, many times a day. It’s something I ask myself all the time, “When I look back on right now, will I be glad I made this decision? Will I be glad when I look back on my life? Will I regret not taking chances which could of led to a lot of open doors?” I tell myself to live with no regrets, but to a degree. I chose to be the one that will not do drugs, drink, or partake in dangerous activities. It’s just nothing that interests me at all, thankfully. Plus I have got so many better things to be doing.

If you ever want to get to know me better, just ask!
